Frequently asked questions

Do you provide support for using your templates?

Absolutely. We provide template support in a number of ways: (i) each model comes with full documentation; (ii) all model template purchase include a free 30-minute onboarding call and revenue model customisation to help get you up and running; (iii) you can add optional additional discounted consulting and customisation support at checkout for more complex requirements; (iv) we provide free ongoing email and phone/video support for smaller queries; (v) we provide more comprehensive customisation and bespoke model build services for more complex use cases; and (vi) we can provide ongoing general financial modelling support via a flexible retainer arrangement (subscription).

What do you mean by ‘lifetime access’?

When you purchase one of our model templates, you’ll receive a download link so you can save and copy the model for lifetime use, with no ongoing subscription. We’ll also let you know about any future changes or improvements we make to the model template you purchased and will provide you with access to those updates free of charge.

Can templates be customised for specific industries or business types?

All of our model templates are designed to be flexible enough to suit a large variety of business models. The revenue engine allows a wide variety of revenue models e.g. one-off fees, subscriptions, SaaS, freemium etc. The dynamic driver-based expense forecasting module should meet the vast majority of expense requirements for most industries. Further support and customisation is of course available, if required.

What level of expertise is required to use the templates?

The model templates have been designed to be extremely user friendly and most basic Excel users should be comfortable populating the necessary inputs and assumptions. Those with more advanced Excel experience should be familiar with the general model structures and will be able to make their own modifications and customisations as required, though this should not be necessary for many use cases. Further support can always be provided where required.

What software do I need to use the templates?

All model templates are compatible with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. They generally work best with the Microsoft Excel desktop app as some features may be limited when using Microsoft Excel online.

Can I use the templates on multiple devices and are there any restrictions on usage?

Once you’ve purchased and downloaded a model template, it’s yours to save, copy and use indefinitely, including sharing within your company (if applicable) and with third parties (such as investors, banks etc) in the ordinary course of business. However, you may not reproduce, copy, distribute, resell or otherwise use the template for any commercial purpose. Full license terms are available in the ‘Legal’ section of the website footer.

What is your refund policy?

As our model templates are digital products, they cannot be ‘returned’ once downloaded. We’re only able to offer refunds on an exceptional, case-by-case basis. We’re usually able to avoid this outcome though, by providing some additional implementation support. If you have any questions before purchasing, please do get in touch as we’re always happy to help.

Can you build my financial model for me?

Absolutely – we love building interesting and complex financial models. Alongside our model templates, we also offer custom model build services for large or complex/bespoke use cases. We’ll start by spending some time with you (and any key stakeholders) to fully scope the project and can deliver based on a day rate or fixed-fee arrangement to suit your requirements. The ModelPro team has decades of collective experience in this area, so rest assured you’re in safe hands.
